Shiann Wilman Overcomes Mechanical Gremlins in Practice

INNISFIL, Ontario — Despite fighting through mechanical gremlins in practice, Shiann Wilman was able to put together a solid performance in her second week of competition.

The afternoon did not start off well for Wilman, as she realized during practice that there was a suspension issue with her No. 14 Mini Stock. The SKLD Motorsports team quickly went to work, making the necessary repairs so that Wilman could get out for her Spring Velocity qualifying heat.

Racing against the top Mini Stock drivers in province, she would continue to gain speed as a driver, scoring an 11th-place finish.

Unfortunately, rain would set in throughout the rest of the afternoon, forcing track officials to cancel the event before the 35-lap feature was ran. Sunset Speedway has announced that the event will made up in the weeks to come, with the date to be announced.

The SKLD Motorsports team will go to work to fix the issues, in hopes of a better run for Wilman in the next scheduled Mini Stock event, which is set to take place on Saturday, May 25.

Wilman’s No. 14 Mini Stock is proudly sponsored by SGCG Motorsports, D’s Original Smoke Shack, Foster Motorsports, Mary Kay Cosmetics, RB Graffix, and EPIC Racewear.
