OWEN SOUND, Ontario — Wally Wilson Racing is proud to continue taking a stand against bullying across the province as they will to support #BurnoutTheBully, carrying the decal on both the Queenston OSCAAR Modified and Outlaw Midget.
After being bullied through high school, Taylor Thring launched #BurnoutTheBully in 2017 to raise awareness about the consequences of bullying someone, the affects it can have on someone, and offer support for those who are dealing with it themselves. You can view her full campaign video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWahnSLFLuM, while following the campaign across all forms of social media and viewing posts marked with the hashtag.
Wally Wilson will be once again behind the wheel of the No. 69 Queenston OSCAAR Modified for the full campaign, hoping to score his second straight year-end top-10 points finish.
“My thoughts going into the 2019 season are fairly similar to last season – full of excitement as the series continues to grow,” he commented. “Bigger fields mean more competition, harder racing and of course the opportunity to gain more friends and broaden our series’ fans to a whole new level! After being consistent once again last season and pulling off a 10th place finish in standings, the team has our heads held high with a lot of confidence!”
Additionally, Wilson will also be competing in select Outlaw Midget events throughout the summer, as well.
“My thoughts entering this (Outlaw Midget) season are that with some changes to the rules, the racing will be a lot more even throughout the field,” Wilson said. “We’ve got a big crop of rookies joining this season; there is just so many variables to be excited about going into the first race to add extra excitement!”
Wilson experienced success behind the wheel of both cars last year, scoring a career-best OSCAAR Modified finish of ninth at Sauble Speedway, while winning an Outlaw Midget heat at Sunset Speedway.
Wally Wilson Racing will receive sponsorship support from The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, Larry’s Small Engines, Have1.com, and Wix Filters for both entries for 2019.
