INNISFIL, Ontario — Battling hard in both 35-lap features on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Ron Quesnelle scored a pair of top-10 finishes.
Starting ninth in the first feature, Quesnelle made his way up to sixth by Lap 3, battling side-by-side with Chad Corcoran for fifth at Lap 12; he would clear him for the spot three laps later. He’d remain in the top-five through the middle portion of the feature, crossing the finish line with a fifth-place finish.
Starting from ninth in the second feature, he avoided a spin in the first two laps to move his way up a spot to eighth. Restarting on the outside, he’d drop back to 10th, getting alongside Dylan Gardner for ninth at Lap 13. Quesnelle got the spot a lap later, with the caution flying on Lap 15 for a spin further back in the field. Restarting just inside the top-10, he’d avoid a spin ahead of him to move up two spots to seventh. Restarting just outside of the top-five, he’d remain seventh till he was able to get alongside Paul Maltese for sixth at Lap 29. He’d take the spot as the laps began to count down, challenging Taylor Holdaway for fifth with two laps to go, but ultimately crossed the finish line in sixth.
Quesnelle will be back in action on the next night of points racing at Sunset Speedway, which will be Saturday, July 28.
