For the second time this season, Mike Robinson Jr. visited Sunset Speedway feature victory lane as winner of the Signs of Innovation Mini Stock race.
Tyler Seaboyer won the first heat ahead of Samantha Shaw, Ken Townsend, Cameron McGlashan, Bob Phinnemore, and Peter Wakeling.
Daniel Montanari won the second heat ahead of Dylan Holmes, Mike Robinson Jr., Chandler Bos, Jason D’Antimo, and Eric Rainey.
The third heat went a little funky as McGlashan and Seaboyer had contact mid-way through, but it wasn’t enough to warrant a caution from the officials. Samantha Shaw drove to the victory ahead of Phinnemore, McGlashan, Seaboyer, Townsend, and Wakeling.
Mike Robinson Jr. won the fourth heat ahead of Holmes, Montanari, D’Antimo, Bos, and Rainey.
Come feature time, Peter Wakeling started pole ahead of Eric Rainey, Jason D’Antimo, Mike Robinson Jr., Chandler Bos, Tyler Seaboyer, Samantha Shaw, Ken Townsend, Daniel Montanari (driving Bob Phinnemore’s car), Dylan Holmes (driving Cameron McGlashan’s car), and McGlashan (driving Holmes’ car).
Robinson Jr. made the three-wide move down the backstretch on the opening lap to take over the lead as Seaboyer and Rainey battled for second. Seaboyer got the spot on Lap 2, with Shaw getting alongside Rainey next as McGlashan made his way down pit road, done for the event.
Shaw would move into third on Lap 3 ahead of Rainey, with D’Antimo and Wakeling side-by-side for fifth. D’Antimo got the spot on Lap 4, with Bos tagging the back of him a lap later. This would allow Bos to get alongside on Lap 6, taking the fifth spot a lap later. At the same time, the black flag was shown to Holmes for the exhaust pipe slightly dragging, sending him down pit road to the attention of his team.
With seven laps on the board, Bos ran fifth ahead of D’Antimo, Townsend, Montanari and Wakeling. Montanari would look to continue moving forward, getting alongside Townsend for seventh.
At the front of the field, Seaboyer would track down Robinson Jr., getting alongside him for the top spot at Lap 13 ahead of Shaw. Robinson Jr. was able to hold him off, though, keeping the top spot ahead of Seaboyer and Shaw, as Bos and Rainey battled for fourth ahead of Montanari. Bos got the spot on Lap 19, with Townsend running sixth ahead of D’Antimo as Holmes rejoined the field with five laps to go.
As Robinson Jr. began to stretch out his lead once again, Shaw would get alongside Seaboyer for second, completing the pass with three laps to go. She would begin to close the gap to Robinson Jr., but ran out of laps.
Mike Robinson Jr. picked up the win ahead of Samantha Shaw, Tyler Seaboyer, Chandler Bos, Daniel Montanari, Eric Rainey, Ken Townsend, Jason D’Antimo, Peter Wakeling, Dylan Holmes, and Cameron McGlashan.
