Nick Goetz Scores Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model Victory

Grabbing the lead in the early stages, Nick Goetz didn’t look back en route to scoring the victory in the Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model feature.

Ernie Fumerton started pole, followed by Chad Corcoran, Connor James, Nick Goetz, Al Inglis, Ron Quesnelle, Jordan Latimer, Mike Wilkinson, Paul Maltese, Taylor Holdaway, Danny Benedict, Gord Shepherd, Nic Montanari, Kendra Adams, and Billy Zardo.

Corcoran grabbed the early advantage with Goetz up to second, as Quesnelle and Fumerton ran side-by-side for third. Quesnelle got the spot on Lap 2, with James looking to follow him through.

At the front of the field, Goetz would make his way by Corcoran on Lap 3 to take the top spot. Quesnelle ran third, followed by Fumerton, James, and Wilkinson. Holdaway would get alongside Wilkinson for sixth at Lap 5, as Shepherd and Inglis battled for eighth. The battles continued around the track, with Quesnelle getting alongside Corcoran for second at Lap 6.

Quesnelle would grab the runner-up spot on Lap 7 ahead of Corcoran, Fumerton, James, Holdaway, and Wilkinson. Shepherd would pass Wilkinson for seventh at Lap 9, with Benedict following him through a lap later, as Zardo ran 10th. Shepherd would try to continue his climb forward, getting alongside Holdaway for sixth, but was unable to complete the pass.

Holdaway would get alongside James for fifth at Lap 12, completing the pass a lap later, with both Shepherd and Benedict following him through. Shepherd then got alongside Holdaway for fifth at Lap 16, but was unable to complete the pass as Holdaway got alongside Fumerton for fourth.

Unfortunately, this battle for position didn’t pan out well for this entire group, with a wreck happening in turn two involving Benedict, Holdaway, and Shepherd for the race’s lone caution.

Goetz got a good restart to keep the lead ahead of Quesnelle and Fumerton, as Corcoran and Wilkinson battled for fourth, with Wilkinson brushing the wall. Despite the contact, he was able to secure fourth on Lap 22 ahead of Corcoran, as Zardo battled James for sixth. James got the spot, getting alongside Corcoran for fifth at Lap 24. Zardo would run seventh ahead of Latimer and Maltese.

Maltese would try to pass Latimer for eighth at Lap 26, but was unable to as Latimer got alongside Zardo for seventh. Adams challenged Maltese for ninth, but she was also unable to complete the pass, with Holdaway getting alongside her for 10th.

Goetz would continue to lead at the front of the field ahead of Quesnelle, Fumerton, Wilkinson, James and Corcoran, with Latimer and Zardo side-by-side for seventh. Latimer got the spot with three laps to go, as Maltese and Adams ran side-by-side for ninth, with Holdaway and Shepherd side-by-side for 11th.

Nick Goetz led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Ron Quesnelle, Ernie Fumerton, Mike Wilkinson, and Connor James. Chad Corcoran finished sixth, followed by Jordan Latimer, Billy Zardo, Kendra Adams, and Paul Maltese. Gord Shepherd finished 11th, followed by Taylor Holdaway, Al Inglis, Nic Montanari, and Danny Benedict.
