Debuting a brand new ride at the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Show, it’s no secret that JR Farrelly is excited for the upcoming APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario season.
Really, why should that surprise anybody, though? Now entering his second year on the tour, he feels that he will be “a lot more comfortable now going to the tracks” simply based on the seat time gained in 2017.
There’s also the factor that he will be behind the wheel of a proven McColl Racing Enterprises Late Model, driving the same machine Pete Shepherd drove to top-fives at Jukasa Motor Speedway.
“It’s been a long winter that’s for sure,” he said. “I can’t wait to get out there and start practicing. We got a new car this year – very excited to be working with McColl again. Everything is top notch and it’s a very competitive piece, so looking forward to seeing what we can do with it.”
With the new wheels underneath him, he hopes to reach the top-five this year after ending the 2017 campaign ranked 10th in the year-end standings.
“It’s a privilege to run in this series, and I think it’s the top notch series right now in Ontario, and its getting even stronger,” he said. “It’s run very professional – from the staff to the sponsors. There’s no other organization that I’d want to be a part of.”
