Discussions about the 2018 season have already begun, as the first track schedule has been released courtesy of Sauble Speedway.
Entering their second year on top of the helm, Mark Dilley and Paul Gresel have developed a series of dates from the season opener on June 9 to championship night on September 8 that are bound to keep fans entertained the whole way.
Many of the fan favourite events return, including traveling series like the OSCAAR Modifieds, OSCAAR Pro Midgets, Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup, Ontario Pro Challenge Series, and the APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario Tour. Though there’s also additions, like the OSCAAR Hot Rod Series and Ontario Modified Racing Series.
There’s also the big subject of discussion, the Great Lakes Concrete Series, which is basically a return of the Home-to-Home program from a couple years ago. Six events – three at Sunset Speedway, and three at Sauble Speedway – with home track and series points on the line. With putting the biggest names from each against each other, it’s bound to be a show. The interesting factor will be the Thursday event, and whether it becomes a success with the fans and drivers. In previous years, running the Battle of the Beach on a Wednesday showed signs of greatness with car count and fans, so it is quite possible.
