Eric Yorke Sweeps Heats, Scores Runner-Up at Sunset Speedway

Eric Yorke would back up his feature victory from last weekend in style, scoring a pair of heat wins and a runner-up on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

As noted, the past division champion began the night showcasing his speed to the field, as he won both of his heats to be the top-qualifier on the night.

Starting 12th in the main event due to last week’s victory, Yorke began to move way up through the field from the drop of the green flag, passing Bob Phinnemore to crack the top-five, before getting alongside Randi Seguin for fourth on Lap 5. He would get the fourth spot on Lap 7, tracking down the top-three over the next couple laps as they battled side-by-side for position. He ran behind them for a bit, letting them sort out the positions, before passing Branden Bullen and Cameron McGlashan to move up to second on Lap 12.

Through the second half of the race, he would try and track down Daniel Montanari for the lead through the lap traffic, though was never able to close enough to make a move. As a result, he crossed the finish line in the runner-up position.

Yorke and DY Racing are proud to be supported by Can-Alignment Motorsports, Solex Steel, Partimer Signs, Skytec Rentals, Budget Tire, Scentsy Consultant – Lisa DeLeeuw, and Cabral Racing Promotions.
