OHSWEKEN, Ont. – July 5, 2017 – The first-ever ActionXpo held at Ohsweken Speedway on Saturday, July 1 was a resounding success. The first-ever Action Sports Exhibition of its kind in Canada was also the largest scooter riding event in the western hemisphere. Nearly 2000 teenagers and kids turned out to meet YouTube star and professional scooter rider Tanner Fox during the afternoon meet and greet.
“There hasn’t been anything like it on this side of the world,” said Mark Czuba, owner of presenting sponsor Jibs Action Sports. “It’s very hard to find an event that big. For its first year, it was a resounding success. We can’t wait to make ActionXpo even better next year.
Fans came from over 500 kilometres away to meet Tanner Fox and see his Nissan GTR Guaczilla in person. They also had the chance to ride BMX bikes, scooters and skateboards alongside professional riders and the Jibs Pro team during the jam session on the custom skate park.
“We definitely saw the power of kids,” said Ohsweken Speedway general manager Clinton Geoffrey. “It was amazing to see 2000 of them going crazy when we introduced Tanner Fox and his famous car!”
The first-ever ActionXpo evening thrill show was unfortunately postponed when a torrential downpour in the afternoon made the competition area unsafe for the competitors. ActionXpo fans will have the chance to witness the Monster Truck action that was scheduled for the thrill show during Monster Mash presented by Insta-Insulation on September 8. The show will now feature four different Monster Trucks, including Overkill Evolution, Higher Education, Temperature Rising and Anger Management.
