After a great event at Kawartha Speedway to kick off the month of June, the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models are back in action on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway for the third night of competition in 2017.
Glenn Watson has certainly started off this year well, scoring a pair of feature victories in the three events run to date. He knows what it takes to get around the Hamilton, Ontario-based oval. In his 13 previous OSCAAR features there, he has three wins and nine top-fives, including a victory this year.
Tyler Hawn has started off successfully this year, posting a pair of fifths and a seventh in the three features. He knows Flamboro well also, with a top-nine finish in each of the last six features – including the aforementioned fifths.
Charlie Gallant knows what it takes to run well at Flamboro as he finished seventh to Jeff Hanley in 2013. He’s also done well since then, posting a top-10 in each of his last six features, including a runner-up in May.
Gary Passer will look to build on his string of top-nine finishes to start the season, including a third-place finish at Flamboro in May.
Derrick Tiemersma hopes to be in attendance after suffering a mechanical failure in a recent non-OSCAAR super late model event. He has been strong this year, posting a top-seven in each start, including a podium earlier this month at Kawartha.
John Cadman has been stellar in his OSCAAR career to date, posting a top-six in each of the four features, including three podium finishes. He will look to break through for his first victory after a runner-up at Kawartha Speedway.
Shane Maginnis has been on a tear recently at Flamboro Speedway, scoring two wins and a second in his last three starts.
Jim Bowman will hope to be out for the first time this year this weekend after suffering mechanical issues to kick-off the year. He ran three races last season, with a best finish of seventh at Flamboro in June.
Along with the OSCAAR Super Late Models at Flamboro Speedway this Saturday will be the OSCAAR Modifieds, OSCAAR Hot Rods, OSCAAR Pro Midgets and OSCAAR Midgets. They will join Flamboro’s regular Pure Stocks and Pro 4 Modifieds, with racing starting at 6pm sharp. Please note the pit gate opens at 3pm. If you arrive earlier and it is open, do not enter till the specified time as a sign of respect for the go-karters who have rented the track.
