Starting deep in the field, Eric Yorke made his way through the field en route to a runner-up finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
The DY Racing driver started off the night well, posting a runner-up in his first qualifier, followed by a victory in the second.
As the current points leader, he would have to start 16th in the 25-lap feature. It didn’t deter his efforts, though, as he made his way up to fifth by Lap 5. He kept moving forward, taking the third spot from Randi Seguin two laps later.
With the leader having pulled out to a straightway lead already, Yorke got alongside Cameron McGlashan for the second spot at Lap 10. The pair ran side-by-side through the middle of the feature, with Yorke getting by McGlashan in the final stages to finish second.
With his fourth straight top-five finish of the 2017 season, he currently leads the points standings, 15 markers ahead of McGlashan. He will hope to extend the gap this weekend at Sunset Speedway on June 10.
Yorke and DY Racing are proud to be supported by Can-Alignment Motorsports, Solex Steel, Partimer Signs, Skytec Rentals, Budget Tire, Scentsy Consultant – Lisa DeLeeuw, and Cabral Racing Promotions.
