As his older brother Hudson Nagy moves up to the late model division, Carson Nagy is set to make the transition up a division, as well. The younger brother will move up to the Thunder Car division at Flamboro Speedway after racing a mini stock last season.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he told Short Track Musings. “I think it’ll be a fun new experience for my brother and I this year moving up a class.”
Going into the year, the driver of the No. 63 Jukasa Motor Speedway, Jukasa Designs, Jukasa Radio, Pure Energy Performance, Been There Dumped That, Epic Racewear, Dave Franks Photos, Automotive Truck and Tire, Fielding Winery, and Ken Wallace Contracting Thunder Car says he’s focused on doing “the best that I can,” with hopes of “a couple good finishes” and finishing in the top-five in points at the end of the year.
Last season in the Mini Stock division, he put together a solid season with a couple top-five en route to finishing eighth in the division points standings.
“Last season wasn’t the best season, but it was pretty good for my rookie year,” he said. “I had a couple top-five finishes and it was really fun.”
Looking back on the year, Nagy said the biggest thing he learned was how to make passes and how to drive the tough 1/3 mile oval.
“Flamboro is a tough track, but I got used to it and it’s a really fun track to drive on,” he said.
