Gord Shepherd has had the dream season at Sunset Speedway this year, with consistent finishes on a weekly basis. He capped off his 2017 Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model Championship campaign in style, sweeping both features on Saturday night.
In a thriller to close out a great season, the St. Onge Recreation Super Stock drivers each battled for the win. At the end, though, it was Mike Weeda edging out Coltin Everingham to become the ninth different feature winner this season at Sunset Speedway.
In a night full of twists and turns, the unexpected certainly took place at Sunset Speedway as nothing played out as it originally appeared so. Once the dust settled, though, it’d be Daniel Montanari picking up the feature victory while Cameron McGlashan was crowned the 2017 Signs of Innovation Mini Stock Championship.
