Shae Gemmell Crowned Grisdale Triple Crown Champion at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario — The magic between Shae Gemmell and Flamboro Speedway continues, as he was crowned the 2025 Grisdale Triple Crown Champion as part of Frostoberfest presented by London Recreational Racing weekend.

He did not have it easy, with a slew of heavy hitters looking to take the crown away from him. Ultimately, 2025 APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario NTN Triple Crown Champion Jake Sheridan was credited with second overall ahead of Flamboro Speedway Track Champion Billy Schwartzenburg and Sunset Speedway Track Champion Jordan Howse.

Ultimately, the Triple Crown is decided and awarded via running a trio of 50-lap features spread throughout the day, with the starting grid for the first event set by time trials. The second feature grid is set by inverting the lead lap cars from the first 50-lap event, with the third feature being an invert of those on the lead lap in the second. The final standings is then determined by whom earned the most points across the three features, with each scored individually.

Shae Gemmell started off his afternoon on the right note by laying down a lap of 15.073 seconds to give him pole for the first 50-lap affair. He then led all the laps en route to the victory ahead of Jake Sheridan, Billy Schwartzenburg, Tom Gibbons, and Jordan Howse. Kevin Albers was sixth in front of Ty Cavallin, who rebounded after an issue at the halfway mark caused him to stop in turns one and two.

Kevin Gallant was eighth despite being spun by Ryden Lapcevich at Lap 31. Lapcevich wound up ninth, followed by Gary Elliott, Kyle Woods, and Billy Zardo. Woods sustained heavy damage after being spun in the aftermath of the Lap 31 contact between Gallant and Lapcevich.

Jordan Howse turned a fifth-place starting spot into a victory in the second feature, despite being heavily pressured throughout for the lead by Shae Gemmell. Jake Sheridan was able to finish third despite sustaining hood damage after a stack up on the frontstretch to open the feature following Kevin Albers getting into the outside retaining wall. Billy Schwartzenburg and Ryden Lapcevich completed the top-five.

Billy Zardo was sixth in front of Ty Cavallin, Kyle Woods, Kevin Albers, Gary Elliott, Tom Gibbons, and Kevin Gallant. Gibbons and Gallant each saw their features end following the aforementioned Lap 1 incident that also involved Woods.

Jake Sheridan got his turn to shine in winning the third feature after taking over the lead on Lap 3, with Shae Gemmell securing the runner-up finish for the overall win. Billy Schwartzenburg was third ahead of Jordan Howse and Tom Gibbons. Billy Zardo was sixth in front of Ryden Lapcevich, Kevin Albers, Kevin Gallant, and Gary Elliott. Notably, Gallant was involved in an incident with Woods on Lap 4 in turn three. Ty Cavallin was 11th, after making significant contact with the backstretch wall following contact from Lapcevich on Lap 6. Woods rounded out the field.
