Dan Archibald Rebounds for OSCAAR Hot Rod Frostoberfest Victory

MILLGROVE, Ontario — In a feature filled with dramatic twists and turns, it was Dan Archibald coming back from an early spin to win the OSCAAR Hot Rod feature as part of Frostoberfest weekend at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, October 4.

The feature did not start out smoothly with Archibald, as he was facing the wrong way in turn two on Lap 17 with a flat right rear following contact with Trevor Thompson while battling for third. He restarted tail of the field, and caught a lucky break of his own in the final laps of the event.

Tyler Hawn had dominated the event to this point, with Kyle Steckly in hot pursuit for the lead as he looked for anyway he could to get by Hawn for the top spot. Everything came to a head with three laps to go when contact resulted in the pair both going around in turn four. Hawn was able to make a pit stop for nose repairs and continued, but this ended the series debut for Steckly.

Steve Book inherited the lead as a result of the above incident, bur was forced pit side himself for a tire change due to a flat. Trevor Thompson and Dan Archibald restarted on the front row together with three to go, with Archibald using a bump and run to secure the lead and victory.

Steve Book and Tyler Hawn both rebounded from their seperate issues to place second and third, respectively. Cole Weber and Trevor Thompson completed the top-five.

Matt Spry was sixth in front of Kyle Steckly, and Drew Richardson. Richardson was forced pit side early as a result of front end damage to his Camaro after contact on Lap 1 in an incident involving Thomas Wunsch. Wunsch got into Richardson and the wall on Lap 1, ending his feature right off the start.

Heat victories went to Kyle Steckly and Tyler Hawn.
