MILLGROVE, Ontario — Taking advantage of a late-race restart, Jason Keen pulled away in the late stages to pick up the checkered flag in the Overkill Enterprises OSCAAR Modified season opener at Flamboro Speedway.
Keen kept himself in position throughout the event hot on the heels of then-race leader Steve Trendell, searching for a way by throughout the 30-lap event. The battle took a turn when a caution came out with two laps to go for a spin by Ryan Dick after contact with Dale Reinhart.
Keen was able to get the jump on the restart, taking the advantage going into turn one and pacing the final two laps en route to scoring the victory.
Trendell came across the finish line second, and was awarded the McColl Racing Enterprises Halfway Leader bonus after leading 28 of the 30 laps. Luke Gignac took advantage of the late-race contact for third, ahead of Dick and Reinhart.
Wally Wilson battled a tight racecar en route to sixth in front of Brandon Feeney, Bob Franks, and Andrew Massey.
Heat victories went to Ryan Dick and Dale Reinhart.
The Overkill Enterprises OSCAAR Modifieds are back in action at Delaware Speedway on Saturday, June 28.
