MILLGROVE, Ontario — Battling amongst the heavyweights of the division throughout the day, Cole Quinton picked up a top-five finish in the Grisdale Triple Crown as part of Frostoberfest at Flamboro Speedway.
Laying down a lap of 15.312 seconds, Quinton set himself up to start eighth for the first of the three 50-lap features. The 2024 APC Series Rookie of the Year dropped back a couple spots off the drop of the green, but was able to make those back up in the second half to finish eighth.
The invert format would give him a front row starting spot for the second 50-lap feature, which he took advantage of in remaining second through the first eight laps. Unfortunately, a couple battles that followed saw him drop back a couple spots, with him making his way back to fifth on Lap 37. He tried to continue to charge forward in the final 13 laps, but was unable to do so.
Taking the green flag for the final 50 lap feature inside the top-five, Quinton spent the opening laps running in fourth, looking to settle in. He’d keep pushing hard, but ultimately fell back to sixth just past the halfway mark. He’d look to gain back the lost ground, but was unable to do so.
The finishes of eighth, fifth, and sixth were enough to give him fifth overall in the event standings.
