Craig Cole Doubles Down at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario — As the battles grow closer on the track amongst competitors, it was Craig Cole doubling down in the Pure Stock division on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway.

Taking the lead at the halfway mark, Craig Cole won the first feature by pacing 11 laps ahead of Phil Givens, Jordan Wilms, Gary Slama and Wayde Thorne. Spencer Riddell fell outside the top-five at the halfway mark to place sixth in front of Mark Allan, Chase Mitchell, Cam Thomson, and Dan Storey.

Chance Rogers ran just outside of the top-10 to place 11th, followed by Leo Labarbera, Len Sterritt, Rachel Mitchell, Rick Mitchell, Mike Hall, Chris Burrows, Mac Ingram, Hailey Hills, and Danyal Effendi. Tyler Wealee, Megan Mitchell, and Alex Stewart failed to finish.

The second feature saw a repeat of the first, with the halfway mark being the changing point as Craig Cole put the No. 92 out front to sweep the night ahead of Rick Mitchell, Cam Thomson, Wayde Thorne, and Jordan Wilms. Gary Slama made his way forward throughout, breaking into the top-10 with eight laps to go and up to sixth in the closing laps, in front of Spencer Riddell, Leo Labarbera, Phil Givens, and Chase Mitchell.

Chance Rogers was 11th once again, this time followed by Mark Allan, Rachel Mitchell, Len Sterritt, Mac Ingram, Chris Burrows, Mike Hall, Hailey Hill, Danyal Effendi, and Alex Stewart. Megan Mitchell and Dan Storey rounded out hte field, while Tyler Weale did not take the green flag.

Mini Stocks

Bobby Mercer took the lead on Lap 5, and did not look back en route to winning the first feature ahead of Blaise Shaw, Matt Young, Mike Thomson, Mike Gilmour, and Kaitlyn Wallace.

Mike Thomson put his mustang out front on Lap 3, and led the rest of teh way to win the second feature in front of Matt Young, Bobby Mercer, Blaise Shaw, Mike Gilmour, and Kaitlyn Wallace.

Late Models

Billy Schwartzenburg showed he can still get the job done, winning the opening feature ahead of Rick Burbridge, Jo Lawrence, Glenn Styres, and Tyler Di Venanzoi. Chris Howse’s return behind the wheel netted him sixth in front of Ray Morneau, Trevor Thompson, Logan White, and Kevin Albers. Connor Pritiko and Roland Goodfellow rounded out the field, while Steve Book failed to finish and Kayden Wright did not take the green flag.

Kevin Albers returned back to his usual form with a win in the second feature ahead of Jo Lawrence, Connor Pritiko, Ray Morneau, and Chris Howse. Billy Schwartzenburg made his way through the invert for sixth in front of Logan White, Glenn Styres, Tyler Di Venanzo, and Trevor Thompson. Roland Goodfellow and Rick Burbridge rounded out the field, while Kayden Wright did not finish and Steve Book failed to take the green flag.

The next stock car racing event at Flamboro Speedway is taking place on Saturday, June 1 with the Bill Zardo Memorial for the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rods. They will be joined by the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modifieds, Canadian Vintage Modifieds, Mini Stocks, and Bone Stocks.
