This past season in Ontario Pro Challenge Series action, Travis Majuery was able to put together a solid campaign with 11 top-five’s, boasting an average finish of 3.875.
“Looking back at our 2023 season, I feel like we accomplished all we set out to do for the season,” he told SHORT TRACK MUSINGS. “Obviously we wanted to improve after winning the rookie of the year award the season prior, so we did all we could in the off season to make the car better, both performance and visually. It proved to be worth it as we brought home a handful more top-three’s, and even got our first win in the car.”
As Majuery noted, his first career checkered flag came this past season at Flamboro Speedway in the very last race of the year, which obviously became the “most memorable moment of 2023.”
Now with a checkered flag to his name, the goal for 2024 is to “bring home a few more wins,” after embracing the rewarding feeling of having the first one out of the way. Though as he looks to improve his program to do so, he says there needs to be “a lot more research and studying on the car to help improve set-up.”
“We are still learning about this car every time we run it,” he offered. “Some more Tuesday practices will help too.”
For Travis Majuery, it seemingly made sense to see him get behind the wheel of a Pro Challenge entry, with having seen the success his father Larry Majuery was able to experience. It is why he considers his Papa his racing hero, as without his fascination of racing,” who knows what I’d be doing instead.” It is worth noting both father and son have drove the same exact car in the series.
“Sharing the Ontario Pro Challenge Rookie of the Year honors with my Papa, and doing so in the exact same car he did it in back in 2006 is super cool,” he commented. “We didn’t even think about that being a possibility when I first started running the car!”
As Majuery continues to embrace the motorsports bug, he notes down the road he would be interested in drag racing.
