INNISFIL, Ontario — There was only one word that Jake Spencer-Walt could muster on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway – “Awesome!”

After coming close through the past couple months, whether with podium finishes or late-race spins, everything came together this time around. He was able to lead flag-to-flag in the feature, holding off his competitors on a late-race restart after having built an advantage before the yellow flag.

The victory marks a culmination of hard work not only by Spencer-Walt behind the wheel in continuing to improve with each lap, but the team in figuring out what he needs to go fast.

The win also allows him to extend his advantage at the top of the point standings ahead of the next event on Saturday, September 3.

Despite traveling to three different tracks throughout the season, Spencer-Walt has now picked up eight top-five finishes in 2022.
