PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Taking the lead in the opening laps, Nolan Gould was victorious in the Mini Stock feature on Saturday night at Peterborough Speedway.

Victor Vowles started off the first heat with the lead, and took a slide through the grass on Lap 3. Tyler Junkin took over the top spot to win ahead of Jeremy Kelly, Brock Baker, Ember Junkin, Brad Lavalle, Vowles, Todd Labadie, and Carol Dawson.

Dan Demers won the second qualifier in front of Shawn Solomon, Chris Tubman, Nolan Gould, Dave Butcher, Rob Crick, Erin Kearns, and Dylan Wils.

Jeremy Kelly won the third heat ahead of Ember Junkin, Tyler Junkin, Baker, Lavalle, Vowles, Labadie, and Dawson.

Shawn Solomon was victorious in the fourth qualifier in front of Gould, Tubman, Demers, Kearns, Crick, Wils, and Butcher.

Come feature time, Rob Crick grabbed the early advantage, but Brock Baker would get alongside him on the second lap. However, the battle would be put to a stop by the yellow flag on Lap 2 for Dan Demers stopping on the frontstretch with a problem.

Brock Baker got a good restart to grab the top spot, with Nolan Gould following him past Crick for second on Lap 4. Crick would continue to fall back, getting passed by Brad Lavalle, Chris Tubman, and Jeremy Kelly, before the second caution at Lap 7 for contact between Dave Butcher and Erin Kearnes in turn four.

The restart would see Ember Junkin tag Tyler Junkin, with Tyler sliding it sideways but able to keep going off the corner. There was also a change for the top spot, with Nolan Gould grabbing the lead in front of Baker, Lavalle, Kelly, Tubman, Tyler Junkin, Ember Junkin, Shawn Solomon, and Crick.

Kelly continued to move forward, passing Lavalle for third on Lap 11, as Tubman ran fifth in front of the Junkins, Solomon, Crick, Victor Vowles, Dylan Wils, Todd Labadie, and Butcher. Butcher continued to move back forward, passing Labadie for 12th at Lap 17. The field would get brought back together five laps to go, courtesy of a caution for Solomon having problems down the frontstretch.

Gould got a good restart to maintain the advantage in front of Baker, Kelly Tubman, Tyler Junkin, and Lavalle. Meanwhile, Ember Junkin’s strong run came to an end with a trip down pit road on Lap 20.

Nolan Gould led the rest of the way en route to winning, as Brock Baker finished second, followed by Jeremy Kelly, Chris Tubman, and Tyler Junkin.
