PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Jake Spencer-Walt is proving to be fast no matter which track he hits this season, as evident by a podium finish in his first trip to Peterborough Speedway this past weekend.

Spencer-Walt was fast from the first heat race on the evening, scoring a runner-up finish after starting pole. He took the green in fifth for the second qualifier, but was able to work his way forward en route to scoring the victory.

Starting third in the feature, he would work his way up to second in quick fashion, ready to challenge for the win. He would track down the leader, finding himself right on the bumper. He made the move to the outside as they came up on lap traffic, but was squeezed in the wall. Following repairs by the Spencer-Walt Motorsports team, he would restart tail of the field on Lap 6.

Just like at the start of the event, he wasted no time in working his way back up through the field, just taking a couple laps before he was back inside the top-five. He continued to weave his way through the traffic, retaking the runner-up spot with just 12 laps on the board.

A series of late-race restarts would occur for incidents through the field, with Spencer-Walt challenging the leader each time. He would get alongside on the final lap, though got a little loose in turn three, ultimately crossing the finish line in second.

It marks his fifth top-five of 2022.
