After surprising everyone with a win at Jukasa Motor Speedway in 2020, Trevor Thompson returned to the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods this season and utilized consistency to place sixth in the standings.
Thompson started the season by sweeping the heats at Sunset Speedway, followed by a fifth in the feature. Two weeks later, he picked up another qualifier victory, and rebounded after contact mid-race for another fifth.
He hoped to carry forward the consistency to Sauble Speedway, and started off the feature strong in battling inside the top-five. However, mechanical issues would end his event early on Lap 25.
A return to Sunset Speedway for Fall Velocity was exactly what the doctor ordered, as he ran inside the top-five all race long once again, this time for a fourth. Unfortunately, Delaware Speedway was a tougher challenge for the No. 00 Camaro as he was unable to make his way as far forward, crossing the finish line in 10th.
He then started off the day at Flamboro Speedway the same way with a mid top-10 performance, though survived the chaos in the closing stages to place fifth. He then followed it up with another fifth at Peterborough Speedway to finish out the 2021 campaign.
While there was no feature checkered flags as many predicted pre-season, Trevor Thompson proved he is still one of the fastest cars in the division and someone to watch in 2022.
The 2021 OSCAAR Hot Rod season is sponsored by Knightworks Design and The Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Campground.
