7th In The Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rod Standings – Gary Hannah

With consistently showing up each week to face the battle that was, combined with some strong runs along the way, Gary Hannah would see his efforts rewarded with a seventh-place ranking in the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rod final standings.

The season did not start off as strongly, though as Hannah ran into mechanical issues just before the halfway mark in the opening feature of the season at Sunset Speedway. He returned to the Innisfil, Ontario facility two weeks later, and was able to rebound with a 15th-place finish.

The series’ annual trip to get dirty at Brighton Speedway saw the finishes continue to improve, as Hannah kept as clean as he could en route to placing 10th. He then ran up front at the beginning of the Sauble Speedway feature, though faded back to cross the finish line in 11th.

A return home to Peterborough Speedway was exactly what the doctor ordered, as it produced a career-best performance for Hannah. He led the opening lap of the feature, and ran inside the top-five most of the event en route to scoring a sixth-place finish.

His third trip to Sunset Speedway unfortunately did not see the consistency continue, instead resulting in a 19th-place finish. He then backed it up with a 16th at Delaware Speedway, followed by 19th at Flamboro Speedway.

He then capped off the season with a 15th in the finale at Peterborough Speedway, despite starting deep in the field.

Although it wasn’t all sunshine and roses, Hannah showed signs of promise throughout the 2021 campaign. Knowing the team is already in the shop working on the year ahead, it can only get better from here on out.

The 2021 OSCAAR Hot Rod season is sponsored by Knightworks Design and The Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Campground.
