Jessica James Victorious in Outlaw Midget ACC Feature at Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — After having qualifying and their features rained out on Saturday, the Outlaw Midgets hit the track on Sunday for their main event.

Wayne McKibbon started pole in front of Larry Lawson, Richard Woodland, Kevin Spiez, Rob Harrison, Jody Bound, Jamie Kay, Jessica James, Jeff Blackburn, Josh Inglis, Lori Richard, Dave Inglis, and Adam Tyo.

The issues started off the drop of the green flag for some of the drivers, with Kevin Spiez, Richard Woodland, and Adam Tyo making their way down pit road during the opening half of the event. Jessica James started off strong, though found herself in the infield grass a couple laps courtesy of contact from Rob Harrison. James was able to keep it straight, though, and kept going, beginning to weave her way back through traffic.

Just before the halfway mark, it’d be Jody Bound scored as the leader in front of Lawson, Blackburn and Brown.

The race’s first caution would come out at Lap 16 for Harrison going for a spin off of turn four. With 10 laps to go, Jody Bound led James, Lawson, Blackburn, Kay, Josh Inglis, McKibbon, Dave Inglis, and Harrison.

The restart would see contact down the backstretch between Bound and James as they battled for the top spot, and the yellow flag flying at Lap 18 for Dave Inglis getting tangled up in turn one.

Jessica James would get a good restart, pacing the field the rest of the way to score the overall victory in front of Jeff Blackburn, Jamie Kay, Larry Lawson, and Rob Harrison. Wayne McKibbon placed sixth, followed by Lori Richard, Dave Inglis, Jody Bound, and Josh Inglis. Adam Tyo finished 11^th, followed by Richard Woodland and Kevin Spiez.
