INNISFIL, Ontario — A decision to take the Limited Late Model and experiment with it as a Pro Late Model paid off for Rick Spencer-Walt in the form of a top-10 finish.
Spencer-Walt started off the night by time trialing with a lap of 14.822 seconds to be 11th-quickest on the board. Spencer-Walt avoided an early spin ahead of him on Lap 6 to move up to eighth. He remained there through the next couple laps, before looking to move up further. Instead, though, contact from behind would send him around for the spin on Lap 23 in turn three.
Restarting from the tail of the field, he would make a move for eighth just past the halfway mark, ultimately taking the spot at Lap 37. He continued to move forward in the final laps, beating a fellow competitor to the line for seventh at the checkered flag.
The next Limited Late Model night is scheduled for Saturday, August 21 at Sunset Speedway with the Shawn Gerrior Memorial.
The Eldon Wallis owned team is proud to receive sponsorship this season from Jim Wilson Chevrolet, Jordan Rooley – Investment Specialist of Scotiabank Bradford, McColl Racing Enterprises, TL Tire, Heidi’s RV Superstore, Byer’s Equipment Motorsports, Auto Trim Barrie, GreenSteelRoof.ca, CGE, MS Sports, and Short Track Musings.
