INNISFIL, Ontario — After starting out the night strong, the mechanical gremlins would become too much for SKLD Motorsports to overcome on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Andrew Shilling started off the night well, parking the No. 29 in victory lane for the opening heat. Karlie Wilman put together a solid race, as well, placing fifth.
The second qualifier was more of the same story with Shilling scoring a runner-up with Wilman ranked seventh.
Come feature time, Shilling and Wilman started fourth and 12th respectively, with Shilling battling in the early stages for third. Wilman’s feature would not last long, as she was forced down pit road on Lap 6 with mechanical issues.
Shilling dropped to sixth in the early stages, ultimately falling to 11th by Lap 12 with the car’s performance continuing to drop. Shilling would complete all the laps, ranked 11th at the checkered with Wilman in 13th.
