OBSERVATIONS: 2019 Signs of Innovation Bone Stock Season at Sunset Speedway

From the first green flag of the season to the last checkered flag flown, it was certainly an exciting second year for the Signs of Innovation Bone Stocks at Sunset Speedway. There were lots of battles back and forth on a weekly basis, with a touch controversy to spice things up, and a couple different faces gracing victory lane along the way.

With all of the results tallied together, here is the final statistical observation piece of the season.

0 of Joe Dunlop won a pair of features en route to championship glory

1st is the best average finish of any driver, set by Kyle Neumeister and David Rockwood. They only ran one points paying event each

2nd is the second-best average finish of any driver, set by Kyle Fetterly, with a runner-up on June 8

2.4 is the third-best average finish of any driver, set by Ryan D’Antimo, across 10 features

2.8571 is the fourth-best average finish of any driver, set by Matt Boyes, across seven features

3.5 is the fifth-best average finish of any driver, set by Phil Givens, across two features

3.8182 is the sixth-best average finish of any driver, set by Dunlop, across 11 features

4th is the seventh-best average finish of any driver, set by Mark Dennis and Curtis Young. Dennis ran two events, while Young made a single appearance on August 31st

4.5 is the eighth-best average finish of any driver, set by Joshua Flamard, across two features

5th is the ninth-best average finish of any driver, set by Jordan Morris, with a fifth on June 29

feature victories for D’Antimo led all drivers in 2019

drivers scored more than two heat victories – D’Antimo (14), Boyes (7), Dunlop (5), Mark Dennis (3), and Aundrea Lusk (3)

drivers won a points paying feature – D’Antimo (5), Dunlop (2), Boyes (2), Neumeister (1), and Rockwood (1)

drivers scored five or more feature top-five’s – D’Antimo (9), Dunlop (9), Boyes (6), Jeff Laflamme (5), and Lusk (5)

drivers scored more than six feature top-10’s – Lusk (11), D’Antimo (10), Dunlop (10), Karlie Wilman (7), and Boyes (7).

5.7273 is the 10th-best average finish of any driver, set by Lusk, across 11 features

feature top-five’s by both Dunlop and D’Antimo led all drivers in 2019

11 feature top-10’s by Lusk led all drivers in 2019, giving her a perfect season

12 different drivers won a heat race

14 heat victories for D’Antimo led all drivers in 2019

19 drivers scored a feature top-five finish

23 of Boyes capped off his season on a great note, winning the last two points features

30 points separated Dunlop and Lusk for the championship at season’s end

31 drivers scored a feature top-10 finish

32 different drivers ran at least a single points event in 2019

90 of Rockwood made his lone points night appearance – June 29 – worthwhile with a trip to victory lane

92 of Neumeister swept the Velocity events for 2019, as he won both Spring Velocity (points event) and the Velocity 250 (invitational)
