INNISFIL, Ontario — The Semple Motorsports team continues to get stronger each week, picking up a heat victory this past Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
The first heat saw him stuck in the heat of battle, managing to stay out of trouble en route to a sixth-place finish. He then started on the front row for the second qualifier, and didn’t look back the whole way en route to scoring the victory.
Starting ninth in the feature, he’d slip back a couple spots in the early stages, thought fought his way back up to eighth by the halfway point. He’d remain there until the race’s first and only caution with five laps to go for a spin deep in the field. Semple used the caution as an opportunity to come down pit road for adjustments. Restarting from the tail of the field, he would make it back up to 12th by the checkered flag.
