INNSFIL, Ontario — Battling up front throughout the whole feature, Cameron McGlashan scored a top-five finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
McGlashan started off the night solidly, finishing sixth in his first heat, and fifth in the second qualifier despite coming off the final corner sideways.
Starting second for the feature, he avoided a first lap incident to inherit the lead. Restarting at the leader, he would drop back to second off the drop of the green flag, remaining there until he was passed on Lap 8. The next four laps saw the battles continue as the points leaders made their way through the field, with McGlashan dropping to fifth by Lap 12. From there, though, he battled hard through the second half of the event to maintain the track position and finish fifth.
McGlashan’s next appearance at Sunset Speedway in the Signs of Innovation Mini Stock division is set for Saturday, August 11. Racing starts at 6pm, with the front gates opening at 4:30pm.
The Dave Middel-owned mustang is proud to receive sponsorship from G.D. Coates Used Car Superstore, Arbor Aces Tree Care Inc, ORVAuto, and Orillia Metal Fabrication.
