Debuting a brand new ride partway through the season, James Stanley used consistency en route to a solid fourth-place points finish in the 2017 OSCAAR Pro Midget Standings.
Kicking off the year at Peterborough Speedway in May, he opened up the season with a sixth-place finish, followed by a seventh at Flamboro Speedway a month later.
He started to find his stride as the season hit the summer months, opening up July with a fifth-place finish at Sauble Speedway. But returning to Flamboro did not help matters, as he only managed a 10th.
Things really took a twist at the halfway point, as the August trip to Peterborough Speedway saw the debut of the new No. 57 Pro Midget chassis that the team had been working on through the off-season. Stanley came out of the gate strong, immediately impressing with a sixth and third in the double features.
Unfortunately, that momentum did not carry forward to Grand Bend Speedway, as he posted a 15th and a ninth in the pair of events there. But, Stanley wasn’t down for long as he bounced back with an impressive fourth at Sauble Speedway.
Stanley made two more starts before the year concluded, posting a third at Grand Bend in September, followed by a third in the Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough.
On behalf of OSCAAR, congratulations to James Stanley on his success this past season. We look forward to seeing what you can do in 2018.
