Running solid in both of his qualifying heats, Sunset Speedway front runner Nick Goetz was the top qualifier for the Spring Velocity.

Nick Goetz won the first heat ahead of Lane Zardo, Chris Morrow,  Ryan Kimball, Rick Spencer-Walt, Josh Stade, Dario Capirchio and Paul Maltese.

2016 Sauble Speedway Late Model Champion Josh Stade won the second heat ahead of Kimball, Goetz, Spencer-Walt, Morrow, Capirchio and Maltese. Unfortunately, Lane Zardo pulled off with a problem.

As noted, Nick Goetz was the top qualifier with an average finish of second, beating out Ryan Kimball’s third. Josh Stade (3.5) sits third, followed by Chris Morrow (4), Rick Spencer-Walt (4.5), Lane Zardo (6),  Dario Capirchio (7), and Paul Maltese (7).

With rain in the forecast, Sunset Speedway officials made the decision to postpone the features from Sunday to Monday afternoon. So be sure to head out on Victoria Day and enjoy some great racing.
