For those itching for racing to return to Kawartha Speedway, your wishes are slowly coming true.
Officials behind the Trailer Plus Legends Series confirmed on Tuesday that the series will visit Kawartha Speedway twice in 2017 – June 2nd and July 21st. These pair of dates are in addition to the 15 races announced previously for the tour, bringing the total length of the schedule up to 17 races for this season. Interestingly, it makes the schedule that much busier for drivers as both those weekends will now be double headers for the racers. They will race at Kawartha on Friday June 2, followed by Peterborough Speedway a day later, and race at Kawartha on Friday, July 21 followed by Sunset Speedway on the 22nd.
As previously noted, there are two Legends Series divisions in 2017, but working together they have put together an action-packed season for drivers that want to either focus on one, the other, or do a combination of both. The Trailers Plus Legends Series will cover the eastern part of Ontario, while the Ontario Legends Series will cover the western part of Ontario.
