Taking the lead with 23 laps to go, Brad Robinson did not look back en route to scoring his first career Ontario Sportsman Series victory in the Summer Scorcher 100 at Sunset Speedway.
Robinson showed speed throughout the entire day, putting down the quickest lap in qualifying at 15.613 seconds. He carried that over to the main event, pacing the opening laps before dropping back to the runner-up spot. He then avoided contact ahead of him with 23 laps to go to re-inherit the top spot, pacing the rest of the way en route to winning.
Cory McAllister led the most laps of any of his competitors, but made contact with Todd Shepherd with 23 laps to go, sending him to tail of the field for the restart. The defending series champion showed his usual speed by rebounding to second.
Brendan Patrick rebounded from an incident of his own to complete the podium ahead of Kevin Trevellin and Kevin Gallant.
The 100 laps unfortunately were not as smooth as competitors would have wished with several caution flags, and some competitors failing to complete all the laps.
