Doug Butler Goes Back-to-Back at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — After showing what he was capable of a week ago, Doug Butler backed it up with another checkered flag on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Putting the No. 10 Nissan out front on Lap 4, Doug Butler kept the lead the rest of the way through, despite being heavily challenged. It looked as though he may get passed as he came up on lap traffic, but he defended off the challenge to get his second win in a row.

Spring Velocity winner Jacob Sutcliffe mounted that challenge en route to a close runner-up ahead of Tyler Seaboyer, who was making his first start of the season. Ryder White and Coleridge Phinnemore completed the top-five.

2023 Champion Jason D’Antimo was consistent once again in sixth in front of Mike Robinson III, Bob Phinnemore, Chris Cunningham, and Cameron McGlashan. McGlashan had mechanical gremlins in his qualifying heat, resulting in him starting tail for the feature.

Rookie Aundrea Lusk was 11th, followed by Jake Spencer-Walt, Madisson Tienkamp, Peter Wakeling, Kris Inglis, Eric Rainey, and Matt Macdonald.

Heat wins went to Jacob Sutcliffe and Doug Butler.
