OSCAAR Drivers and Teams Gather to Celebrate 2025 Season

LONDON, Ontario — After a successful 2025 campaign, the OSCAAR drivers and teams gathered together on Saturday, October 25 at the Four Points by Sheraton to celebrate the season as part of the United Racing Series banquet.

With a pair of heat wins and six top-five finishes in a season that included his first career series victory at Peterborough Speedway, Steve Trendell was celebrated as the 2025 Overkill Enterprises OSCAAR Modified Champion. Trendell captured the championship by a single point over Dale Reinhart after rebounding late in the series finale at Delaware Speedway. The full top-five gathered celebrated their season together, with Jason Keen, Ryan Dick, and Wally Wilson joining the top-two on stage.

Wally Wilson picked up the Don Hawn Most Sportsmanlike Driver of the Year Award following a season with two top-five’s and six top-10 finishes. Wilson brought positivity to the track each week through his interactions with fellow competitors and drivers, while promoting the series on a regular basis through his social media channels.

Following a great season with three wins and no finishes outside of the top-five, Tyler Hawn was crowned the 2025 OSCAAR Hot Rod Champion. The multi-time series champion’s season was highlighted by a trio of victories including the Bill Zardo Memorial at Flamboro Speedway, Delaware Speedway, and Brighton Speedway. He then added icing to the cake by winning the non-points Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway to close out the season.

Thomas Wunsch picked up the Don Hawn Most Sportsmanlike Driver of the Year Award after a solid season that saw him place third in the final standings. Wunsch, along with his parents and team, brought smiles to the track each week through their interactions with their competitors, as well as remaining positive despite having some trying moments during the second half of the year for the 15-year-old.

With the banquet in the rearview mirror, the focus now shifts to the 2026 campaign and ensuring that it is one of the best seasons yet for the series.
