PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Starting on the pole, Jake Sheridan never gave up the top spot through Electric City 167 as he led all the laps en route to winning the event as part of the 32nd Annual Autumn Colours Classic presented by B&G B&G Towing & Recovery at Peterborough Speedway.
Sheridan showed his speed during qualifying on the night before the event by laying down a lap of 13.565 seconds for the pole. He broke out to the early advantage on the drop of the green flag, and never looked back there as he maintained a gap steadily ahead of his competition throughout.
Rick Spencer-Walt rebounded from an early pit stop for a flat tire for a runner-up finish, ahead of Dale Shaw, who came back to the front after having to make an unscheduled trip down pit road for the window net coming down. Dan McHattie and Gord Shepherd completed the top-five.
Shawn Chenoweth ran up front throughout for a sixth in front of Dwayne Baker, Mitch Wright, John Owen, and Doug Wills. Wright had an eventful debut behind the wheel of a Pro Late Model that saw him make contact in the opening laps with Ryan Kimball in turn three and four.
Sean Walker came back from a crash during practice on Friday for 11th, followed by Ollie Ferguson, James Horner, and Jacob Mercer. Ryan Kimball had returned to the front after his early contact with Wright, but was forced down pit road with issues on Lap 87 for 15th. Kelly Balson placed 16th after contact with Ferguson on the frontstretch on Lap 74 ahead of Gary Hannah, Travis Hallyburton, Dustyn Mombourquette, and lane Zardo.
Paul Toms was 21st in front of Tyler Junkin, Jason Whyte, TJ Edwards, Paul Maltese, and Steve Powell.
