INNISFIL, Ontario — If the championship was not enough, Wally Wilson made his season even sweeter by dominating the 50-lap Modified feature to close the season as part of Sunset Speedway’s Last Dance weekend.
A third-place qualifying effort landed him the front row with the invert, and Wilson took full advantage of the track position in taking the lead off the drop of the green flag. He then led all of the laps en route to picking up the checkered flag.
TJ Edwards kept himself within striking distance, but was unable to make a move en route to a runner-up. Brent McLean tried to make his bid for second, with a bit of contact, coming up short in third. Quick qualifier Matt Haufe and Max Beyore completed the top-five.
2025 Overkill Enterpises OSCAAR Modified Champion Steve Trendell was sixth in front of Chris Milwain, Drew Stieler, Dylan Connolly, and Andrew Massey.
Amanda Balson was running inside the top-five until a mechanical failure saw her make contact with the outside turn two wall on Lap 24. Darin Malcolm was parked the lap before by officials for not lining up accordingly for the restart. Luke Gignac’s race ended on Lap 17 with the motor going up in smoke, while Josh Gruntz pulled off on Lap 6.
