LONDON, Ontario — It came down to a battle in the final five laps of the event, but ultimately Dalen Martin returned to Delaware Speedway victory lane in the OSCAAR Hot Rod feature on Saturday.

A strong qualifying effort enabled Martin to start up front, knowing he had tough competition ahead with Thomas Wunsch and Steve Book on the front row. Although Wunsch broke out to the early advantage, Martin kept himself within striking distance, beginning to stalk his pray with 10 laps to go. He made his move with four to go, getting alongside Wunsch through the corner and completing the pass.

Dalen Martin then led the final four laps of the 25-lap feature en route to picking up the checkered flag. Thomas Wunsch’s continued search for his first career series victory saw him place second, with Kenny McNicol earning a third in his return.

Tyler Hawn struggled through the heats, but was able to battle his way forward in the feature to pick up a fourth-place finish to take home the 2025 OSCAAR Hot Rod Championship. Steve Book’s strong start saw him wound up fifth.

Jay Doerr’s knowledge of Delaware enabled him to pick up a sixth in front of Rob Bromley, Trevor Thompson, Drew Richardson, and Brian Wilson Jr. A pair of Delaware Speedway regulars in Derek Clark and Barry Watson were 11th and 12th ahead of Hailey McNicol back behind the wheel of her truck with a break in the Legend schedule.

Steve McCaw and David Rockwood were both forced to pit road early as a result of mechanical issues.

Dalen Martin and Steve Book picked up the checkered flags in the qualifying heats.

The next race for the OSCAAR Hot Rods will be at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, October 4 with Frostoberfest.
