INNISFIL, Ontario — A late-race restart played into the hands for Jacob Sutcliffe as he was able to capture the Mini Stock feature victory at Sunset Speedway.
Sutcliffe made his way forward from the back half of the field, putting himself inside the top-four as he tried to reel in the leaders. A perfect opportunity presented itself when the caution came out with seven laps to go for Chris Cunnington spinning in turn two.
Sutcliffe got a good restart, making his way to second before putting a challenge on Doug Butler for the lead. The pair ran side-by-side through the final two laps, with Sutcliffe edging out Butler at the line for the victory.
Wyatt Sutcliffe and Cameron McGlashan benefited on the late-race restart as well to come through for third and fourth, respectively.
Prior to the caution, it was Mike Thomson and Coleridge Phinnemore battling for the lead back and forth.
