INNISFIL, Ontario — Starting on the second row, Paul Pepper found his way to the lead in the early stages, and did not look back en route to winning the Stewart’s Stampede 70 at Sunset Speedway.
Shawn Chenoweth topped the board in time trials with a lap of 15.683 seconds, but the competition was not far behind with Justin Collison and Pepper both within 0.023 seconds of his time.
Chenoweth jumped out to the early advantage, but was caught by Pepper on Lap 12. Pepper then made his move to take over the top spot, stretching his advantage to a straightaway before a series of late debris cautions. Despite two seperate challenges by Jacob Booth and Coltin Everingham, Pepper held them both off to capture the checkered flag.
Booth made his way into second with 10 laps to go, holding off a hard-charging Johnny Morrison for the spot. Shawn Chenoweth and Coltin Everingham rounded out the top-five.
Connor Maltese was sixth in front of Daniel Hawn, Cole Burrows, and Dan Robb.
