INNISFIL, Ontario — Finding his way to the front in the closing laps, Jordan Owen was victorious in the Bone Stock feature on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
A slew of fast competitors made up the front of the field, leading to close competition with several side-by-side battles to watch as the event went on. Owen was the sneaky one of the bunch, working his way carefully through the traffic to put himself into the second at the halfway mark. He then tracked down the leader, making his move when it counted with three laps to go.
Jordan Owen led the final three laps en route to winning the feature with Steve Oakes slipping through for second ahead of Cash Ireton, and Chris Allard. Allard had led the until that point with three laps to go. Last week’s feature winner Kris Khan completed the top-five.
Ben McPherson was sixth in front of Calvin Reesor, who had to rebound after sustaining damage due to contact during the heat race after a pair of incidents with Matt McGrath. McGrath was eighth ahead of Sera Giannone and Jeff Oakes.
Aidan Harper was 11th, followed by Reese Bird, Austyn Jennett and Karlie Wilman. Jennett ran into mechanical issues before the green flag, pulling down pit road. His teammate Karlie Wilman followed him in shortly after, with Jennett jumping behind the wheel of her car before the event started. He completed four laps before the car shut off on him, sending him back to pit road.
