INNISFIL, Ontario — Taking the lead on Lap 7, Dawson Drimmie led the rest of the way en route to winning the Ontario Legend Series feature at Sunset Speedway on July 5.
Contact ahead of him would hand him the lead after a strong qualifying effort, and he held on from there. There were battles behind him, but no one got close to the No. 66 except for Matt Boyes, but nothing came of the charge. Jake Spencer-Walt posted a career-best third-place finish ahead of Cole Kamrath and Mitch Wright. Wright rebounded after contact on the backstretch with Andy Kamrath at Lap 10.
Keaton Pipe was sixth ahead of Caleb Drimmie, Mackenzie Milwain, Andy Kamrath, and Robbie Sikes.
Matt Thompson was 11th, in front of Paul Pierik, Nick Portt, Bob Bailey, Hailey McNicol, Joe Sherman, Josh Hollestelle, Todd Tolton, and Nathan Killins.
Joe Adams was the early leader, but contact with Parker Traves resulted in a 21st and 22nd-place finishes for them respectively. Wes Cuthbertson caught a piece of the next caution for 23rd ahead of Gibson Baker, Tom Eckenswiller, and Rob Eggleton.
