SKLD Motorsports Endures Busy Weekend with Sunset and Sauble

INNISFIL, Ontario — Making the trek to both Sunset Speedway and Sauble Speedway over this past weekend resulted in busy times for SKLD Motorsports.

Austyn Jennett started off the night by leading the way for the team with a fourth-place finish in his heat, with Matt McGrath placing seventh. Karlie Wilman was in the second qualifier, posting a fourth-place finish after leading the field to the green flag.

The feature saw the team battle throughout the field, with Matt McGrath working his way through the field up to a fourth at the checkered flag. Austyn Jennett and Karlie Wilman were not as lucky in their endeavor, crossing the finish line eighth and 11th respectively.

The team then made the trek to Sauble Speedway in hopes of qualifying for their big invitational. The heats did not go as planned for the team, as each of them failed to place inside the top-six, sending them to the b-main for the night. Matt McGrath made the most of the b-main, crossing the finish line in sixth to qualify for the main event. Austyn Jennett was 12th with Karlie Wilman in 14th, resulting in both drivers missing the show.

Starting at the back of the main event, Matt McGrath worked his way forward, cracking the top-20 with just 12 laps on the board. He continued to make his way forward, running as high as 15th before having to pull off on Lap 37 due to mechanical issues. He was credited with a 18th-place finish.
