Jacob Sutcliffe Out-battles Butler for Mini Stock Glory at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — In a battle that may have seen a bit of contact throughout the final laps, Jacob Sutcliffe was able to come out on top and win the Mini Stock feature on Saturday at Sunset Speedway.

Doug Butler started on pole and looked ready to dominate for a second straight victory in a row after winning the Allan Lankin Cup. However, Sutcliffe nor Ryder White was ready to allow that to happen in keeping within striking distance.

A late-race caution played out perfectly for Sutcliffe, who was able to get the run on the restart and a bit of hard racing on his part to secure the advantage on Lap 22. He then led the final three laps en route to the victory ahead of Butler and White.

Teammates Coleridge Phinnemore and Chandler Bos completed the top-five ahead of Jason D’Antimo, John Bird, Wyatt Sutcliffe, Aundrea Lusk and Curtis Burnett.

Chris Allard was 11th, followed by Madisson Tienkamp, Bob Phinnemore, Eric Rainey, and the 34.

Cameron McGlashan was sent pit side by race officials on Lap 12 after making contact with Wyatt Sutcliffe while battling for fourth. Kris Inglis only completed three laps before heading pit side to round out the field.
