SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Everyone can take a sigh of relief in knowing the future of motorsports is in the good hands after a pair of second-generation racers found victory lane with the Jr Late Models at Sauble Speedway.
The first 20-lap event saw a tremendous back and forth battle between Josh Davenport and Thomas Gibbons, as the pair of them traded the lead back and forth on a couple occasions. It came down to a side-by-side race in the final stages, with Gibbons’ getting a little loose in turns three and four to hand the advantage to Davenport.
Carter Kamrath made the pass with four laps to go to take third ahead of Caleb McConnel and Wyatt Sprung. Ronnie Mason, Rylan Russell, Cody Beckman, and Chase Beckman rounded out the field.
Davenport looked set for a dominating victory when a late-race caution reset the field. Thomas Gibbons was able to get the run on the restart, pacing the final laps en route to the win ahead of Josh Davenport.
Caleb McConnell held off Carter Kamrath for third time this time around, with Wyatt Sprung rounding out the top-five. Chase Beckman was sixth in front of Rylan Russell, Cody Beckman, and Ronnie Mason.
