SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Surfs up! The OSCAAR Hot Rods are set for their eighth appearance at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, June 14 for their second event of 2025.
Rob Bromley won the series’ trip to Sauble Speedway in 2020 behind the wheel of the Corvair, followed by another trip to victory lane at the beach with the Javelin a year ago. Notably, he has posted no finish worse than fifth in his last four appearances at the beach. He will look to score the victory for the third time with another car out of the Bromley Automotive Ltd fleet, as he takes the Challenger this time around. He kicked off the 2025 campaign with a runner-up at Flamboro Speedway.
Steve Book will be looking to turn his luck around, given how things went for him at Flamboro Speedway in having mechanical issues with the primary car, followed by flipping the back-up on its lid. He could very well have a good run at Sauble as he has ran well there previously, with no finishes outside of the top-six, including five podiums.
Trevor Thompson has been fast throughout his OSCAAR career, something he looks to carry into this weekend at Sauble Speedway. He has previous finishes of seventh and fourth.
Tyler Hawn knows what it takes to win at Sauble Speedway, having done it twice before. There has also been consistency shown at the beach recently with a string of three top-five finishes. He will look to go two in a row after winning the Bill Zardo Memorial at Flamboro Speedway.
Thomas Wunsch proved even though he is in his sophomore campaign, he will be someone to watch this upcoming season. He found himself in the runner-up spot at Flamboro, and challenged Hawn for the lead throughout the entire duration of the event putting him on the early list of contenders for a checkered flag this year. Wunsch finished seventh in his first trip to the beach last season.
