Parker Traves Sweeps Ontario Legend Car Series Features at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Making his return behind the wheel of a Legend car, Parker Traves proved he has not missed a beat by winning both features at Sunset Speedway on Saturday.

After setting the second quickest time in qualifying, Traves made his way forward in the feature, taking the lead after a back-and-forth battle with Joe Adams at the halfway mark. He then held off the field in the remaining nine laps en route to the victory.

Top qualifier Mitch Wright made his way forward for a runner-up, with Adams completing the podium. Wes Cuthbertson was fourth, while Matt Boyes rebounded from getting loose, contact with the wall, and contact with Dawson Drimmie for fifth. Jade Franklin ran inside the top-five throughout, fading back to sixth ahead of Andy Kamrath, Gibson Baker, Drimmie, and Portt.

Jake Spencer-Walt battled inside the top-10 much of the feature, fading back in the late stages to 11th, followed by Paul Pierik, Caleb Drimmie, Mark McDonald, Robbie Sikes, Matt Thompson, Keaton Pipe, Chase Stievenart, Hailey McNicol, and Cole Kamrath. Kamrath was closer to the front of the field, but suffered a spin on the last lap to relegate him back in the field.

The feature included a red flag after Eric Stewart had a throttle hang in turn two, making significant contact with the outside wall, catching some air in the process. He was sore following the contact, but able to climb out of the car under his own power.

Parker Traves left no questions on the day, coming out in the evening with another dominating performance, taking the lead on Lap 3 and not looking back en route to the checkered flag. Mitch Wright was second once again, with Wes Cuthbertson rounding out the podium.

Matt Boyes and Dawson Drimmie was fourth and fifth, in front of Joe Adams, Jade Franklin, Andy Kamrath, Nick Portt, and Jake Spencer-Walt.

Caleb Drimmie was 11th, followed by Robbie Sikes, Matt Thompson, Keaton Pipe, Cole Kamrath, Mark McDonald, Paul Pierik, Hailey McNicol, Chase Stievenart, and Nathan Killins.

With over 24 cars on the property, a b-main was used to set the field, with Todd Tolton coming out victorious.
