LONDON, Ontario — Taking the lead at the halfway mark, Shawn McGlynn led the rest of the way en route to winning the Ontario Sportsman Series season opener at Delaware Speedway.
McGlynn was fast throughout the day, timing in second quickest to set himself up to start on the front row. He kept himself within striking distance of the lead through the first half, making his move at the halfway mark to take over the top spot. He then held off the challenge on a couple ensuing restarts to pick up the checkered flag.
Brendan Patrick made his way into second from sixth but was unable to capitalise in the final laps. Connor James, who was the top qualifier and led the first half, completed the podium.
Derek McCullough and Lane Zardo rounded out the top-five ahead of Chad McGlynn, Doug Cathcart, Sean Mangin, Cooper Aubertin, and Brad Robinson.
