OHSWEKEN, Ontario — David Gravel will go home feeling good after his trip to Canada, as he was able to sweep the pair of World of Outlaw events at Ohsweken Speedway this past week.
After picking up the feature win on Wednesday, Gravel found himself sitting fifth after qualifying on Thursday night with his eyes on a repeat. He wasted no time making his way forward, climbing inside the top-three with just five laps on the board before working on tracking down the leaders. He made his move on Connor Morrell with eight laps left, pacing the remaining laps en route to victory lane.
Morrell held on for a runner-up finish, while Canadian Dylan Westbrook placed third after leading the opening laps of the event. Sheldon Haudenschild battled his way back to fourth after changing a motor just before qualifying, with Chris Windom completing the top-five.
Jordan Poirier was sixth in front of top qualifier Garet Williamson, Zach Hampton, Michael Kofoid, and Donny Schatz.
There was a red flag in the early stages with Giovanni Scelzi flipping after contact with Carson Macedo. Scelzi got the car fixed, and was able to return to the event.
Heat race wins went to Williamson, Haudenschild, Gravel, and Windom.
Todd Hoddick went for a wild ride in qualifying, flipping as he entered into the third turn.
